Senior Safety Engineer – Manufacturing (Jamnagar)

Role Summary:
Join our team as a Senior Safety Engineer in our state-of-the-art Jamnagar manufacturing facility. This pivotal role involves ensuring a safe working environment, driving compliance with HSE standards, managing risk assessment programs, and fostering a strong safety culture across the site operations. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust safety procedures and training modules within a large-scale process industry environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all safety documentation, including standards, guidelines, procedures, and training modules, are up-to-date and compliant with industry regulations.
- Auditing & Assurance: Lead and participate in internal and external safety audits, supporting area/plant safety reviews and ensuring adherence to EHS management systems.
- Behavioral Safety: Conduct frequent safety observations to meet targets, analyze behavioral data, and implement action plans to modify behaviors and enhance safety practices.
- Risk Management: Drive participation in comprehensive Risk Management programs, including Hazard Analysis (HAZOP/HIRA), incident investigation, and the identification and completion of necessary control measures.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver specialized safety training programs to enhance the competency of target groups across the facility.
- Safety Promotion & Culture: Plan and execute safety promotion initiatives and awareness campaigns in high-focus areas to continuously improve the site’s safety culture.
- Industry Engagement: Represent the company by participating in external industry bodies, trade associations, and global forums to stay abreast of best practices and regulatory changes.
- Network Deliverables: Achieve specific deliverables set by the Network Steering Team/Subcommittee.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science (Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation, or Chemistry).
Desirable:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent recognized certification.
- Post Graduate degree in Engineering/Science.
- Industry Recognized/Accepted Expert in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
Experience Requirement:
- 5 to 10 years of total experience in Process Industry Site Operations or Maintenance.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of dedicated experience handling HSE functions.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in the implementation of HSE Assurance programs.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical understanding of large-scale manufacturing operations.
- Excellent ability to coach, influence behaviors, and persist in driving cultural change.
- Proficiency in data analysis, auditing techniques, and technical facilitation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with strategic understanding and political acumen.
